Multi-Grammy® Award-winning Queen of Neo-Soul, Erykah Badu, is set to perform at Addition Financial Arena on November 13, 2021 at 8:00PM along with special guests Goodie Mob and Scarface.
Dallas native Erykah Badu is hailed as one of the most gifted soul singers, songwriters and producers of her generation. Her unique sound and vocal delivery of music rooted in soul, hip-hop, jazz, and gospel birthed a new genre and bestowed upon her the title, Queen of Neo-Soul.
Badu’s first album "Baduizm" released the single “On & On” on the forefront of the neo-soul movement. She led the way with commercial and critical acclaim along with a triple platinum debut album and four career Grammy Awards®. Through two decades of her career, she has demonstrated her influences from jazz to hip-hop on songs like “Cleva” and “Love of My Life,” respectively. Other notable singles include “Bag Lady,” “Window Seat,” and, of course, “Tyrone” off of her "LIVE" album.
Year 2020 marked the 20th anniversary of her second studio release, Mama’s Gun, the 10th anniversary of New Amerykah Part Two: Return Of The Ankh, and the fifth year since her ambitious mixtape, “But You Caint Use My Phone.”
With her degree in theater, she has also shown up on the big screen. Badu’s artistic endeavors include standout roles in “What Men Want,” “The Cider House Rules,” “Blues Brothers 2000,” and “House of D,” as well as contributions to the soundtracks for many iconic films and television shows including the Academy Award®-winning 2016 film” Moonlight,” FX’s “Atlanta,” and Spike Lee’s “Bamboozled,” among others.
